Cookie Policy

cortifylabs.com uses cookies and similar technologies. This policy explains which we use, why, and how to manage consent.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on the user's device. Similar technologies include browser local storage (localStorage), which we use to remember your consent choice.

2. Which technologies we use

The site uses the following categories:

  • Essential / technical: remembering the consent banner choice — the "cortify-consent-v1" entry in browser local storage (not a classic cookie and not requiring consent).
  • Cortify chat widget: a "cortify_session_{ID}" entry in browser local storage (conversation session id and token) and a "cortify_pill_dismissed_{ID}" entry in browser session storage (remembers that you closed the welcome bubble) — required for the chat to work and does not require consent.
  • Analytics and ad measurement: Google Analytics (ID G-X4ET841S5P) linked with Google Ads — cookies are set only after consent is given; used to measure traffic, site usage and the performance of our Google Search ads.
  • Google Consent Mode v2: the Google tag loads on every visit, but until you consent it runs with every purpose denied — it sets no cookies, reads no identifiers and is not used to personalise ads. It then sends only anonymised signals (e.g. that a visit or an enquiry happened), which Google uses for aggregated, modelled measurement. We do not show ads on this site and do not use remarketing.
  • Product analytics: PostHog (EU Cloud), reached through our own domain (the /ingest path). Without consent it runs without cookies or browser storage and recognises visits by a hash computed on PostHog's servers. After consent it sets cookies and browser storage (ph_ prefix) and records the session with form field contents hidden.

3. Legal basis and consent

Essential storage is used based on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Analytics is activated only after consent is given in the banner, in line with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and applicable e-privacy rules.

4. Managing consent and cookies

You can withdraw or change consent at any time by clearing site data in your browser (which restores the consent banner) or by blocking and deleting cookies in your browser settings. Rejecting analytics cookies does not affect the core functionality of the site.

5. Retention

The consent entry is stored until you remove it. Retention periods for Google cookies follow the Google Analytics and Google Ads service settings; PostHog cookies follow PostHog's settings (up to a year by default).
